How to Install Stock Android Firmware on Samsung Galaxy J5 2016
- First go to SamMobile – this page. Enter the model number of your phone and download the full Android firmware package (if you can’t manage to find the proper ROM, use the comments field from below as we are here to help you out).
- Save this firmware file on desktop.
- Next, download Odin; install the program and run it on your computer.
- Power off your device and wait while the shut down process is completed.
- Reboot download mode on your Galaxy J5: press and hold the Power, Volume Down and Home buttons at the same time, for a few seconds.
- Connect your smartphone with your computer; use the USB cable in that matter.
- Odin will recognize your device – the “added” message will be showed and the ID:COM field will be turned yellow or blue.
- If that’s not happening, reinstall the USB Drivers on your computer before retrying the steps from above.
- Next, from Odin click on the PA option and load the Android software package.
- Don’t check the Re Partition option or the Auto Reboot section.
- Click on Start when done.
- The stock Android OS will be now installed on your 2016 Samsung Galaxy J5.
- You will be done when the “pass” message will be displayed on Odin; moreover, the ID:COM field should be now green.
- Unplug the USB cable and reboot your phone.
- If it will get stuck in a boot loop, go to recovery mode and from there select “wipe data factory reset” followed by “wipe cache partition”.
- Optional: if you have problems while using Odin (the program isn’t running properly) follow – close the program, unplug the USB cord, force restart your smartphone, reinstall its USB drivers on your computer and repeat the procedure from above.
