New Delhi: After upending the whole telecom industry, Jio has many more plans to rule the market. One such is Jio broadband which will be launched soon on trial basis in five locations –Delhi, Mumbai, Jamnagar, Pune, and Chennai.
Jio will officially launch its Jio Fibre services in June this year, media reports say.This is company’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service. This will also allow you to manage your home and appliances from your smartphone.
Jio Fibre promises broadband speeds of up to 1Gbps, with a minimum speed of 100Mbps. At this speed, one can download a movie in no time.
Jio is likely to offer this affordable high-speed broadband service free for first 3 months. Trials for the services are already on.It will be the only one of its kind IoT-based technology to be used in India. Reports say that through just one cable connection you would be able to get net, phone and TV services.
However, the offer will come with a rider. Reliance Jio would charge Rs 4,500 (refundable installation charges) from the users. If the consumers do not wish to continue with JioFibre, the amount will be refunded to them.
The company will offer 100 GB free data at 100 Mbps speed and free access to Jio premium applications. After completion of 100 GB data cap, users will continue to get a speed of 1 Mbps.
Meanwhile, the Economic Times, citing another report has said that Jio home broadband FTTH is expected to start at Rs 500 for 600 GB data while Rs 2,000 for 1000 GB data at 100Mbps speed.
